Did you know ...

This week (2/14/05 to 2/28/05) is National Random Acts of Kindness week!

Every individual can make a difference in another persons life. A simple smile :D can make even the dreariest of days tolerable. Smile at someone this week and see what happens. ;)

Do your part... _vti_cnf

Did you know...

That the phrase "rule of thumb" is derived from and old English law which stated

that you couldn't beat your wife with anything wider than your thumb.

Ouch! Savages...those English. <_< I wonder if the word 'gentleman' came about because he didn't beat his wife too hard?!

Did you know....

...That almost a quarter of the land area of Los Angeles is taken up by automobiles!

I think we all know that....at least when we are looking for a place to park when attending a wedding in LA!

Wow, It looks like Sadichka "Owns" this thread:

But if I can sneak in here, I have a tidbit that was interesting to me when I heard this:

Did you know that all of Australia has the same population as L. A. County?

Probably the ones in those cars that take the spaces up during a wedding

There is plenty of room for you to post! :D My door is always open to new and 'interesting facts'!

And By the way....Did you know...

...If you toss a penny 10,000 times, it will not be heads 5,000 times, but more like 4,950. The heads picture weighs more, so it ends up on the bottom.

Heads or Tails?! Do the math!

The whale fat makes it smooth and easy to spread, the fish scales make it shiny and glossy (light reflective).

What I want to know is how they get the "fishy" smell out. If they would bottle and market THAT product I would get it. Catch the fish, clean the fish , cook the fish, smell like fish for a week.....

Did you know....

.....That banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour.

What?! It's not like I actually do that! ;)

Don't care, still going to Carlsbad. We just won't let the kids go out past the breakers--- ;)

The kid's fathers can go as far as they want to, of course. B)

I remember the days of Carlsbad....when I was a teen, I would go with friends and stay the week. That was when Michael Jackson's "Thriller" was # 1 B) Hmmmm... <_< I remember the greatest thing to have was a moped, scooting back and forth from site to site. Maybe one day I will go again -_- . Now I would have to sit and talk with everyone, make chai, bake, cook...well, on second thought  ...maybe not!

By the way...Did you know...

That China has more English speaking people than the United States.

Didn't think so! ;)

I promise Sadichka, you can still ride your moped all you want. And as long as you don't invite people to your campsite, you don't have to cook or bake a thing. Just relax....the breeze blowing...... the sound of the waves..... again... and again.....lulling you into....... -_- .....zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Did you know...

....That Dionysis Exeguus - the 6th century monk whose task it was to pivot the

calendar around the birth of Jesus Christ - miscalculated the founding of

Rome by about 6 years (and left out the year 0), thus the Third Millennium

actually started on 31 December 1995.

Did you know that...

On Wednesday, September 7,2005, Fire Departments around the country will be asking everyone to 'fill the hat' with donations to go directly to burn units in your own area. On Sunday, I had to take my little one (the accident prone one) to the hospital because she had received 2nd degree burns. Very painful  Please support your local burn center and 'fill the hat'!

Actually, Yeah! _vti_cnf

There are 2.3 billion people in China in comparison to 237 million in the USA (these are statistics as of July 2005). Only 82% of the people in the US of A speak English...not all as a first language.

China is the largest nation that uses English as a second language. Statistics show that 65% of all Chinese know English in one form or another.

2.3 billion * 65% = 1,495,000,000

237 million * 82% =194,340,000

Konichiwah! :D

This is more of a 'did you see?'

Did you see the Pillsbury Dough Boy commercial? It is so funny! There is a family of Russians, with really bad accents and all dressed in grey and brown. He brings cookies and they start to eat them and dance around until.....

'Got Milk?'

No Moloko!

I guess you had to be there!

 Barbie's measurements if she were life size: 39-23-33.

:o The dollar symbol ($) is a U combined with an S (U.S.)

 Our eyes are always the same size from birth, but our nose and ears never stop growing.

 The Statue of Liberty's tablet is two feet thick.

 There are two credit cards for every person in the United States.

 The slogan on New Hampshire license plates is 'Live Free or Die'. These license plates are manufactured by prisoners in the state prison in Concord.

Did you know:

If you suck on a mint Mentos instead of chewing on it, the yummy mint goodness goes all the way until it's gone. (Unlike a jellybean where you have to chew it to combine the outer sugery coating with the jell within).

Just wanted to say that I like your 'pic'.

Did you know that turtles can breath out of their 'rear ends'?

No, I can't use the PM button yet (that's for people like you who say profound things-- or at least talk a lot :) )

Did you know that men are more likely to get struck by lightning than women?

Strange but true! Makes you wonder.

Sada

Probably because more men are out there swinging around those metal clubs, no matter what the weather is like.

Did you know that a sneeze leaves your mouth at approximately 100 miles per hour.

We should have "sneeze-mobiles" in order to relieve the gas prices.

:75: <----that is the closest that I could get to a sneeze!
