Think Positive

Recommended Posts

A positive outlook is key to good health!

Here are some thoughts to keep it on the optomistic side:

Practice kindess: Do good things for others.

Random acts of kindness “ doing good for others, even if they do not know you or know it is coming from you. There is a certain sense of joy or satisfaction in doing something anonymously to help another person (or people).

Count your blessings: Express gratitude for what you have and also by conveying your appretiation towards others.

Encourage optimism: Think about the future in a positive way. Practice seeing the bright side in every situation.

Avoid over thinking and comparing your situation to other people`s circumstances. When you start to over anylize situations or compare yourself to others, stop and turn your attention to positive thoughts or activities.

Nurture relationships. Pick a relationship that needs strengthening, and invest time and energy into it.

Commit to your goals. Pick one or more significant goal and devote time and effort to achieve them.

Forgive. Let go of anger or offense caused by another person, and get over it. Holding on to negative resentment is counterproductive.

Take care of your health. Exercise, eat right, and get enough sleep on a daily basis.

"3 "But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

4 "that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly." (Matthew 6:3-4 NKJV)

Count your blessings: Express gratitude for what you have and also by conveying your appretiation towards others.

"6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into [this] world, [and it is] certain we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.

9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and [into] many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is a root of all [kinds of] evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." (1Timothy 6:6-10 NKJV)

Encourage optimism: Think about the future in a positive way. Practice seeing the bright side in every situation.

"2 Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy.

3 For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.

4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything." (James 1:2-4 NLT)

Avoid over thinking and comparing your situation to other people`s circumstances. When you start to over anylize situations or compare yourself to others, stop and turn your attention to positive thoughts or activities.

20 For the evil have no future; their light will be snuffed out." (Proverbs 24:19-20 NLT)

"And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near." (Hebrews 10:25 NLT)

"Let the words of Christ, in all their richness, live in your hearts and make you wise. Use his words to teach and counsel each other. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts." (Colossians 3:16 NLT)

Commit to your goals. Pick one or more significant goal and devote time and effort to achieve them.

"13 Look here, you people who say, "Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit."

14 How do you know what will happen tomorrow? For your life is like the morning fog""it`s here a little while, then it`s gone.

15 What you ought to say is, "If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that."

16 Otherwise you will be boasting about your own plans, and all such boasting is evil." (James 4:13-16 NLT)

Forgive. Let go of anger or offense caused by another person, and get over it. Holding on to negative resentment is counterproductive.

"12 Since God chose you to be the holy people whom he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.

15 Look after each other so that none of you will miss out on the special favor of God. Watch out that no bitter root of unbelief rises up among you, for whenever it springs up, many are corrupted by its poison." (Hebrews 12:14-15 NLT)

Take care of your health. Exercise, eat right, and get enough sleep on a daily basis.

"8 Physical exercise has some value, but spiritual exercise is much more important, for it promises a reward in both this life and the next.

"6 Many people say, "Who will show us better times?" Let the smile of your face shine on us, LORD.

7 You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and wine.

8 I will lie down in peace and sleep, for you alone, O LORD, will keep me safe." (Psalm 4:6-8 NLT)
