seeking_truth_1 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2010 So just to be clear You are saved by your works? Even though Ephesian 2:8 states you CANNOT be? You don't understand the passage in James According to your "faith" you are saved by works yet the Bible states the opposite In addition, the passage in James clearly illustrates that faith SHOULD produce some evidence of a changed life The works don't save you...They are evidence of God working in your life Speaking of that...Do you have any evidence of your "faith" When was the last time you prayed with someone to receive Jesus? When was the last time you shared the Gospel with someone? When was the last time you fed or in anyway helped someone? Now the kicker...When was the last time you did any of this for a nasty 'ol "ne-nash"? Could you provide where in the Bible is says "Faith with works will save you. GoodDay 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2010 This comment Downunderguest is the most pathetic Non-Christian typical comment I have heard all my life by many leading Molokans and many others. This is the most selfish Non-Biblical thought that has brought things to where they are today in today's Molokanism. To say, that other Christians should take care of other non-Molokans and let the Molokans only take care of other Non-Molokans only is not of God? I know SO many other Non-Molokans that would help a Molokan family or a church in a split second, no questions asked if a situation came up. THOSE are the kinds of Works that God had prepared for His people before the beginning of the world. They would help Buddist, Voo-doo, Molokans-Anyone! "The world," in the Bible, means, anything apart from God or apart from His ways. We ALL live in the world. Them that still follow the ways of devil, which is ANYTHING that does not Glorify God is "Of the world." Them who practice in the way of sinning is of the world. Them who are good in others eyes but not Gods are of the world. Non-Molokan Christians are in the world but NOT OF the world. They too are our Brothers and Sisters, whether one likes it or not. To call a Non-Molokan Christian NOT your Brother or Sister is to say that you do not know God or His Son. Not my words, but words of Jesus Christ Himself!! This is why it's important to drop all the tradition and language and order of things and open the doors to all. If not, then other Christians will not know the Molokans and He who died for them who come to Him will not know many of the Molokans. This practice is not of God. ONLY helping "your own" is a given! That's not what the Bible is about. This practice does not know Jesus and with that does not know the Father nor the Father know them. That's in the Bible too. I did not die on a cross after leaving that message. Jesus Christ did. Ignoring His words is ignoring Him. The Gospel of John lays this out very clear. Also, 1John1-5. If it makes no sense to you, the reason why is also in that Gospel. Why should we help thos of the World? We have enough poverty and people/families in our curches that need our help we let you American evangelicals take care of the nenash of this world. Guest guest Report post Posted March 6, 2010 How was he with Jesus in paradise on the same day of His death? This is true and of sound Scripture, but how is this so? The believing thief was converted by Jesus while they were both spiked to Roman crosses, the thief had no works yet was in Paradise with Jesus on the day of his death. This is so because the believing thief confessed being a sinner and believed in Jesus as his Savior. Rom 10:9-13 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile — the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." NIV Luke 23:39-43 39 One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: "Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us!" 40 But the other criminal rebuked him. "Don't you fear God," he said, "since you are under the same sentence? 41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong." 42 Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." 43 Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise." KevinPolyaNazaroff 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2010 Why should we help thos of the World? This question has been asked before. 11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? Mat 9:11 KJV But until we "go and learn what this means", we will never understand the answer. In fact, that was the answer. Jesus response to the question "why", is a command to go and learn "mercy". 10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. 11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? 12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. 13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Mat 9:10-13 KJV This question about Jesus hanging out with "ne-nash" is echoed many times by "religious" people. Not to long ago, I used to believe this way. I wanted nothing to do with "ne-nash", christian or not. Not only were "ne-nash" bad, but even the "liberals amongst us" were even "badder". I remember a time when Polya and myself lived in L.A. We were going out on Friday evening, and stopped at burger night at the U.M.C.A. I made her go inside to get the hamburgers while I sat in the car. I refused to go into that place because of FEAR. Fear that I would not be considered "elite". I was also afraid that some "devils dancing on the roof" would sneak up on me, or something like that. I was becoming a good little Pharisee. Although there were a couple of good Christian friends in the molokan church that were trying to help me, I refused to deal with the heart of the issue, which was my heart. It was only until I got saved that my heart/attitude changed. And now the question is not "who" to do mercy to. There is no more questions about "who and why" when it comes to helping others. There is no more questions, because Jesus already gave the answer. Why keep asking Jesus the same thing over and over, when you know the answer. Or even worst, why defy His answer. Why defy His will. Gods will is mercy. So Jesus already gave the answer to your question, "Why should we help those of the World?" His answer is the same today as it was 2000 years ago. Go and learn what this means - mercy! Kevin Nazaroff

Nick Shubin 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2010 Yes Nick "WOW". Isn't it great to know that you are apart of the True Believers? Oops, sorry, no you wouldn't because you strayed from that path long ago. Down under guest, again, all i can do is point you to scripture. 2 Corrinthians ch 4 The Light of the Gospel 4:1 Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, [1] we do not lose heart. 2 But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God's word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God. 3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing. 4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5 For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants [2] for Jesus' sake. 6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Treasure in Jars of Clay 7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. 8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. 11 For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12 So death is at work in us, but life in you. 13 Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak, 14 knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence. 15 For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God. 16 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self [3] is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way. 14As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean. 15If your brother is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy your brother for whom Christ died. 16Do not allow what you consider good to be spoken of as evil. 17For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, 18because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men. GoodDay 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2010 Could you provide where in the Bible is says "Faith with works will save you. It's a proven teaching from God Himself" Rom 2:6-7 For he will render to every person according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. Rom 2:10 but glory and honor and peace for every one who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek. You are quoting Romans 2 way out of context and not bring out the meaning at all. Read what seeking wrote again. Not ONE single work will save a man. Any "work" we do is a product of our obedience and our desire to follow through with the works that God had planned for us before our existence. We are saved by grace and that's it. When I was still dead in my sin, there was no possible way I could have understood what God's grace was. I couldn't earn it, "work" for it or even study about it. All I could do was to accept it. I didn't love God until He showed me that He loved me by bringing me face-to face with His Son who died for me. I struggled with that for years because I still thought I had to do something in return. I tried and tried to please God by pleasing man and then it was even more difficult because I thought I was doing the right thing because I started to love Religion so much I started to go further away from the cross that I was so close too. I was still in the world but just in a part that appeared better and pleased man in a different way. It was in a Religious way. I still had no clue who Jesus Christ was. The more I tried the worse it got. Then I eventually went back to another part of the world where I had more fun. It was the best time because It was easy to find the devil. I loved the devil and he pretended to love me. I didn't see God in church or outside but I saw the devil everywhere so I joined back up with him again. I didn't see God because I didn't know Him. Many years later I still was following that tug in my heart but running the other way, I started to realize the devil brings no long term joy. It was like he showed me a good time for little while and then left me when I felt bad and had no where to go exept back to him. Once I couldn't take the feeling of that despair and had no more ideas of how to find God or please Him, I realized it was because I still missed the devil a tiny bit and I wanted to hang on to him a little. A couple of years ago, somethings happened and I was feeling like giving up as I was tired of the devil and couldn't find God. I was walking home and I just looked up and said "I am so sorry God, I don't get it. forgive me for being so stupid. I cannot figure out how to find you." I acknowledged Him once at the age of 19 but was so far from him, It took almost 25 years for me to just give up and surrender to Him. My heart cried out to Him as I didn't even know what to say because I didn't know how to talk to Him. I was drained and just said please show me what I am doing wrong by not know how to answer you and I feel you calling me harder than ever. Right then I felt a massive change and knew something was different. I was able to call some friends and ask them questions about Jesus Christ and their answers made sense. In time I had realized how much I had offended God and show hate toward him by loving the devil. It wasn't until The Holy Spirit came into me to dwell did I know how to talk to Him. At that moment, I felt nervous about praying to Him because I could only pray 5-6 Russian prayers and I kept using them over and over and my spirit felt uneasy. I would read about Jesus and listen to sermons and finally a time came when I felt me doing things that nerve made sense to me. I was doing things that I didn't have too but wanted too. I had to learn that He wanted me to talk to Him just as any child would talk to his father. It took about a year to finally understand the Truth about praying and what He wants of us. He wants us to follow Him and converse with Him openly and freely. We are free from His wrath. When we mess up he lets us know by disciplining us. Just like a father does to a child he loves. When we are happy He loves when we share that joy with Him by sharing it with others. When we are grieving, he wants us to bring it to Him by allowing others to griev with us. I was being put on the same path as other people who were just coming to the Cross and them who had put thier faith in Him in the recent past and some from other paths. We had all been brought to Jesus in different ways with different stories. We all had believed that Jesus Christ died for us and that our faith in Him was a seal to an eternal life with him. We all shared stories of we were re-born and had all been baptised in the Holy Spirit. We gathered and prayed and studied The Word and just pressed on to allow the Holy Spirit guide us and to teach us. Eventaully our hearts were telling us to allow God to show us how to be obediant to him together with whomever He brings with like mind and to come along side to do works that He had for may of us to do together. From that time, until today, we can look back and see that our obediance and faith naturalyl lead to doing His work that He was saving for us. He has brought the best Christian friends to us to this day. We have had Blessings that we never imagined. The Blessing of meeting other Brothers and Sisters all over the place young and old, male an female, tall and short and from all walks and cultures as we are all one in Jesus Christ and them with thier own stories and thier Love for Jesus Christ and the personnal relationship they have with Him. Everyone has a spiritual gift to used in thier part of the works they now are able to do with joy. We been in "churches" under bridges and behind a library. In churches in cars and in patios, and in a Bakery, and in parking lots and in the rain. In a circle or in a row we have worshipped. God has showed us how to pray in a room, on a phone, in Russian, In Spanish, In English and even with Hand-language. So many works that God has Blessed us and all His Children with. Some are Blessed to go to other countries. Some are blessed to spend nights on Skid row and stay for weeks in Countries that kill Chritians. So many works that Christians are able to do now that their faith has brought them to a new family. Persicution is a constant thing as Christians are still hated more than ever by the world. Many die for thier faith and do not give into the enemy. Families are divided. Familes are also devided for a time and then end up twice is strong. None of these works save, as they are works that were waiting until after people are saved and then God reveals to them. The works have always been there just waiting. God's grace is what saves. Our faith in Jesus Christ who died for us, in our place was a free gift from a Loving God who had mercy on us. We do not diserve his grace or love. We deserve His wrath and if His creation continues to remain hung up on fear of man while they say they have faith in His Son, there will be no works and THAT is the kind of faith that is dead. True faith produces works and True faith leads to Salvation. The works are just a natural part of a Christians walk. If His children are obediant and listen to Him and allow the Holy Spirit to lead, there is no way that there cannot be works. God is love and to those who He loves that love Him, He gives them joyous works to do. They may be difficult and dangerous and even lead to death, but anyone who loves the Lord has joy in what the Lord does and gives to them. Them who die for Him in any way face a joy we cannot imagine, for an eternity :-) This whole Chapter says it clearly; Ephesians 2 1As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature[a] and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. 4But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.[/b] 6And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. 11Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called "uncircumcised" by those who call themselves "the circumcision" (that done in the body by the hands of men)— 12remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. 13But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. 14For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, 16and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. 17He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. 18For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. 19Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household, 20built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. seeking_truth_1 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2010 The problem with your "leap" in your references is that somehow molokans are "christians" molokans are "believers" in something just not in BIBLICAL Christianity Otherwise those are great passages to speak about instructions for Christian living So to all those "christians" who are still within the cult of molokanism...why are you still there? Next, your application of the passages is not contextually accurate You are taking the religion of men and melding that with out of context Biblical passages to support your skewed views 1) The passage in Act has nothing to do with food laws. It was an object lesson for Peter to learn to accept all races 14 "No, Lord," Peter declared. "I have never eaten anything that our Jewish laws have declared impure and unclean." 15 But the voice spoke again: "Do not call something unclean if God has made it clean." 16 The same vision was repeated three times. Then the sheet was suddenly pulled up to heaven. 17 Peter was very perplexed. What could the vision mean? Just then the men sent by Cornelius found Simon's house. Standing outside the gate, 18 they asked if a man named Simon Peter was staying there. (Acts 10:14-18) Peter didn't know what to make of the vision until he was called to go the the house of Cornelius (a Roman officer "ne-nash") The answer was revealed to Peter in verse 28 Peter told them, "You know it is against our laws for a Jewish man to enter a Gentile home like this or to associate with you. But God has shown me that I should no longer think of anyone as impure or unclean. (Acts 10:28) Why does the cult of molokanism still practice racism when the Bible clearly teaches it's wrong This should take care of most of your WRONG tenets of your religion of men You really don't know your Bible very well What "False Christianity" are you taking about? Helping anyone and not only doing Molokan things according to most of the elders of todays Molokans? Living a life according to the Bible only? Understanding that we are a sinful generation only a cross away from the Wrath of God? Worshipping with any Christians God puts on our path? Loving them that hurt like Jesus did? This is false? Please do not say; Pork Acts:10:14 But Peter said, No Lord, for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean. War, Matt 5:43-44, You have been heard it said, Love your neighbor but hate your enemy;' but I say to you, Love your enemy. Forefathers Heb 13:7 Remember your leaders, etc. and imitate their life. Marry-out 2 Cor 6:14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers Ne-nash 2 Cor 6:15 What has a believer in common with an unbeliever. KevinPolyaNazaroff 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2010 (edited) CHRISTianity is not based on what we do or how we do it. They contradict. 22 When Jesus heard this, He said to him, “One thing you still lack; sell all that you possess and distribute it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” They do not contradict. The whole of scripture teaches that salvation is a gift of God. It is taught this way in so many places. Let's explore a parable that Jesus gave to us, in which we refer to as "The Prodigal Son". The Prodigal Son 11 And He said, “A man had two sons. 12 “The younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me the share of the estate that falls to me.’ So he divided his wealth between them. 13 “And not many days later, the younger son gathered everything together and went on a journey into a distant country, and there he squandered his estate with loose living. 14 “Now when he had spent everything, a severe famine occurred in that country, and he began to be impoverished. 15 “So he went and hired himself out to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. 16 “And he would have gladly filled his stomach with the pods that the swine were eating, and no one was giving anything to him. 17 “But when he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired men have more than enough bread, but I am dying here with hunger! 18 ‘I will get up and go to my father, and will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight; 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me as one of your hired men.” ’ 20 “So he got up and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. 21 “And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ 22 “But the father said to his slaves, ‘Quickly bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet; 23 and bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let us eat and celebrate; 24 for this son of mine was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.’ And they began to celebrate. 25 “Now his older son was in the field, and when he came and approached the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 “And he summoned one of the servants and began inquiring what these things could be. 27 “And he said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has received him back safe and sound.’ 28 “But he became angry and was not willing to go in; and his father came out and began pleading with him. 29 “But he answered and said to his father, ‘Look! For so many years I have been serving you and I have never neglected a command of yours; and yet you have never given me a young goat, so that I might celebrate with my friends; 30 but when this son of yours came, who has devoured your wealth with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him.’ 31 “And he said to him, ‘Son, you have always been with me, and all that is mine is yours. 32 ‘But we had to celebrate and rejoice, for this brother of yours was dead and has begun to live, and was lost and has been found.’ ” Luke 15:11–32 NAS Edited September 2, 2010 by KevinPolyaNazaroff
KevinPolyaNazaroff 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2010 20 “So he got up and came to his father. Luke 15: 20-24 NAS Rejoicing—he came to the father (Luke 15: 20–24). Here Jesus answered the accusations of the scribes and Pharisees (Luke 15:2), for the father not only ran to welcome his son, but he honored the boy’s homecoming by preparing a great feast and inviting the village to attend. The father never did permit the younger son to finish his confession; he interrupted him, forgave him, and ordered the celebration to begin! Of course, the father pictures to us the attitude of our Heavenly Father toward sinners who repent: He is rich in His mercy and grace, and great in His love toward them (Eph. 2:1–10). All of this is possible because of the sacrifice of His Son on the cross. No matter what some preachers (and singers) claim, we are not saved by God’s love; God loves the whole world, and the whole world is not saved. We are saved by God’s grace, and grace is love that pays a price. In the East, old men do not run; yet the father ran to meet his son. Why? One obvious reason was his love for him and his desire to show that love. But there is something else involved. This wayward son had brought disgrace to his family and village and, according to Deuteronomy 21:18–21, he should have been stoned to death. If the neighbors had started to stone him, they would have hit the father who was embracing him! What a picture of what Jesus did for us on the cross! Everything the younger son had hoped to find in the far country, he discovered back home: clothes, jewelry, friends, joyful celebration, love, and assurance for the future. What made the difference? Instead of saying, “Father, give me!” he said, “Father, make me!” He was willing to be a servant! Of course, the father did not ask him to “earn” his forgiveness, because no amount of good works can save us from our sins (Eph. 2:8–10; Titus 3:3–7). In the far country, the prodigal learned the meaning of misery; but back home, he discovered the meaning of mercy. The ring was a sign of sonship, and the “best robe” (no doubt the father’s) was proof of his acceptance back into the family (see Gen. 41:42; Isa. 61:10; 2 Cor. 5:21). Servants did not wear rings, shoes, or expensive garments. The feast was the father’s way of showing his joy and sharing it with others. Had the boy been dealt with according to the Law, there would have been a funeral, not a feast. What a beautiful illustration of Psalm 103:10–14! It is interesting to consider the father’s description of his son’s experience: he was dead, and was now alive; he was lost, and now was found. This is the spiritual experience of every lost sinner who comes to the Father through faith in Jesus Christ (John 5:24; Eph. 2:1–10). W. W. KevinPolyaNazaroff 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2010 10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. 11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him. 12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. 13 Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him. 14 For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust. Psalm 103:10–14 NAS 3 For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. 4 But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, 5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. 27 Where is boasting then? seeking_truth_1 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2010 1 ¶ Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see. 2 Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation. 3 By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. 4 ¶ It was by faith that Abel brought a more acceptable offering to God than Cain did. Abel’s offering gave evidence that he was a righteous man, and God showed his approval of his gifts. Although Abel is long dead, he still speaks to us by his example of faith. 5 It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying—“he disappeared, because God took him.” For before he was taken up, he was known as a person who pleased God. 6 And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. 7 It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before. By his faith Noah condemned the rest of the world, and he received the righteousness that comes by faith. 8 It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going. 9 And even when he reached the land God promised him, he lived there by faith—for he was like a foreigner, living in tents. And so did Isaac and Jacob, who inherited the same promise. 10 Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a city designed and built by God. 11 It was by faith that even Sarah was able to have a child, though she was barren and was too old. She believed that God would keep his promise. 12 And so a whole nation came from this one man who was as good as dead—a nation with so many people that, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore, there is no way to count them. 13 All these people died still believing what God had promised them. They did not receive what was promised, but they saw it all from a distance and welcomed it. They agreed that they were foreigners and nomads here on earth. 14 Obviously people who say such things are looking forward to a country they can call their own. 15 If they had longed for the country they came from, they could have gone back. 16 But they were looking for a better place, a heavenly homeland. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them. 17 It was by faith that Abraham offered Isaac as a sacrifice when God was testing him. Abraham, who had received God’s promises, was ready to sacrifice his only son, Isaac, 18 even though God had told him, “Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted.” 19 Abraham reasoned that if Isaac died, God was able to bring him back to life again. And in a sense, Abraham did receive his son back from the dead. 20 It was by faith that Isaac promised blessings for the future to his sons, Jacob and Esau. 21 It was by faith that Jacob, when he was old and dying, blessed each of Joseph’s sons and bowed in worship as he leaned on his staff. 22 It was by faith that Joseph, when he was about to die, said confidently that the people of Israel would leave Egypt. He even commanded them to take his bones with them when they left. 23 It was by faith that Moses’ parents hid him for three months when he was born. They saw that God had given them an unusual child, and they were not afraid to disobey the king’s command. 24 It was by faith that Moses, when he grew up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. 25 He chose to share the oppression of God’s people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin. 26 He thought it was better to suffer for the sake of Christ than to own the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking ahead to his great reward. 27 It was by faith that Moses left the land of Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger. He kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible. 28 It was by faith that Moses commanded the people of Israel to keep the Passover and to sprinkle blood on the doorposts so that the angel of death would not kill their firstborn sons. 29 It was by faith that the people of Israel went right through the Red Sea as though they were on dry ground. But when the Egyptians tried to follow, they were all drowned. 30 It was by faith that the people of Israel marched around Jericho for seven days, and the walls came crashing down. 31 It was by faith that Rahab the prostitute was not destroyed with the people in her city who refused to obey God. For she had given a friendly welcome to the spies. (Hebrews 11:1-31 NLT) 18 Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.” 19 You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. 20 How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless? 21 Don’t you remember that our ancestor Abraham was shown to be right with God by his actions when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete. 23 And so it happened just as the Scriptures say: “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” He was even called the friend of God. 24 So you see, we are shown to be right with God by what we do, not by faith alone. 25 Rahab the prostitute is another example. She was shown to be right with God by her actions when she hid those messengers and sent them safely away by a different road. 26 Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works. (James 2:18-26 NLT) Actions (works) do not save but are evidence of a saving Faith 19 ¶ Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the deeds of the law. (Romans 3:19-28 NKJV) I agree with you about the deeds of the law. What about the deeds of faith? I agree 100%
lastinline 0 Report post Posted September 2, 2010 Actions (works) do not save but are evidence of a saving Faith One of these actions that are necessary to show evidence of this saving Faith is the acknowledgment, in some distinct manner of, EXACTLY who is my Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. The essence of this acknowledgment must come only through what is proclaimed in the Holy Scriptures by God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, the Apostles and by various other contributers to the Bible, by and through the Holy Spirit. The result will be what Apostle John proclaims in Revelation 20: 6. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. NKJV Откровение Иоанна 20 6. Блажен и свят имеющий участие в воскресении первом: над ними смерть вторая не имеет власти, но они будут священниками Бога и Христа и будут царствовать с Ним тысячу лет. (Russian Synodal Version) Sadly, because of their own actions, those who refuse, the result will be as John proclaims in Revelation 20: 11-15 11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God,[a] and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
