  1. Health And Wealth

If we are to believe that illness stems from a lack of faith, then how do we explain illness in children? My child was born with a tumor in her spinal column that went for almost a year before diagnosis. By then the tumor was doing serious damage to her spinal cord. She should have never walked. She had surgery over 18 years ago, and has no paralysis. Every time I look at her, I thank the Lord. I prefer to believe that her illness happened so that we could witness the glory of God and His mighty power. My daughter gave me permission to post this. Kniwit's mother
  2. What Music Are You Listening To ?

Song 685 from the blue pesnik -- the author took much of his/her inspiration from Psalm 139 Where can I go from your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your face? If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. Your hand will hold me fast -- even if I rise on the wings of the dawn and if I setlle on the far side of the sea. I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me," but even the darkness does not hide me from Your face and the night around me becomes as light as day. For You created man, You arranged his bones; You gave him the spirit of life -- you even invested mercy in him. Eternal praise to You, Lord, because of Your amazing works -- they are forever unfailing. How great to me are all Your thoughts; they cannot be studied -- so many are their numbers, like all the stars in the sky or like the sands on the beaches around the sea or in the river. You are amazing, Lord, in all your doings! My thoughts are not hidden from You -- test me, Lord, and know my heart; [know] whether I [tread] on dangerous paths -- Lord, direct my ways. Wake me from this dream. I will praise you forever. Amen.

  13. I Am Confused

Amen! When I joined this forum, it was with the hopes that I would be able to grow spiritually from the knowledge imparted between individuals who are members on this site, but it seems as though ever since I joined, there have been more and more unnecessary attacks by one strong-minded individual against other strong-minded individuals. I think that some reforms are necessary, such as admin controlling which topics and responses posted in the anonymous section will or will not be tolerated. I agree that some members and guests are acting in an immature manner and that this site is destined to fall apart if admin continues to tolerate such inflammatory behavior.
  14. Dating In The Molokan Community

Why Some Girls Don't Get Asked Out (my theory, anyway) Reason #1: Some guys are more insecure than girls the same age. Reason #2: Maybe to guys, girls are intimidating and have very strong personalities. Reason #3: Peer pressure. Reason #4: Some kids weren't taught how to behave toward members of the opposite sex in adolescence (maybe, don't quote this as a fact) Reason #5: Guys are broke and they can't afford to pay for 2 movie tickets, 2 popcorns, etc. Anyway, to what extent did guys and girls "do stuff" together in the golden age? I know that my parents (who lived six hours away from each other) met at weddings, church functions, and parties. As far as I know, they didn't really DATE in the sense that they WENT OUT on dates, but they still dated for two years and then got married. Today's teens don't go out on "good old-fashioned" dates; those are for "good old-fashioned" people (and here I am making a generalization). Face it, for every new generation of people there is a new set of rules for dating. I'm getting the feeling that if girls want to go out, they better start doing the asking (at least some of the time).
  15. Are there any moderated forums for Molokan teenagers?
