because we are in America, we must be kept separate from American culture and ecumenical Christendom, and marry within the faith, to preserve the religion the manner we received it from our forefather. As a result, some interpret this to means that we are better than others or selected above others. this is not correct. what we have is our own, and we should not mix or associate with other denominations. that is all. WOW! I'm overwhelmed by how quickly this thread grew. So I'm just going to reply as I read along. Dz *****, The thing is that WE DO live in Amercia...so how do we not mix or associate with other denominations? I find that my closer friends happen to be not Molokan. Is that bad?

Ok...just scanning through some posts....and I noticed that some of you believe that Molokans are the chosen people!? WHAT THE HECK?! How are we better then others? What makes us snobby enough to think that we are better then everyone..and the chosen race?! That post just made me sick to my stomach to even consider myself a Molokan if there are people believing that!

What?! More people moved up here?! Anyhow..jobs arn't that bad to come by. I live in Salem..and it's a pretty big city...same as Portland. The position that I am right now pays a lot more up here then when I was in California. True....it's hard to adjust from California life to Oregon life...but I did. I hang out with people when I can...but I like to keep busy by working. Yes there is less traffic then in LA. Everything up here is green! We are expecting some snow in the valley area..which is where I am...well im kinda up in the hills...soo withen a few hours or so there's suppose to be some snow fall...but I'm sure it'll melt as the day goes by.

The thing is...if one commits adultery once..then the chances of them doing it again is great! Why would someone want to stay with one who sleeps around?! Does God really want that? Would he really forgive you for sleeping around night after night?! What a bunch of bull. If a couple marries very young because the girl got pregnant...then the parents MADE that couple get married because of that...do you really think that those two were meant to be together?! I mean these two are under 18....and getting married. So a couple years go by...and they figure out that they are NOT MEANT TO BE TOGETHER...so they divorce...years later one finds the actual love of their life and they get married because they want to! Because they are really in love! They have kids..and been married for over 20 years...should they still be frowned upon for a mistake that was made nearly 30 years ago?!

hmm...i think you all are full of it (sheesh I was gonna say c r a p but it made it look like a cuss word!!)... Anyhow..those of you that know me..you already know my thoughts and feelings on this subject...I made it VERY clear on another site. I think you should keep your mouth shut until YOU ACTUALLY GO THROUGH OR KNOW OF SOMEONE GOING THROUGH A DIVORCE. You can't just say..."oh that person has been through a divorce, therefore they are unclean and should not marry again" What..do you really think that person should stay miserable the rest of their life alone or with the one that they are no longer happy with?!?!!?!? Yeah..it's a flippen wonder why people leave the Molokan faith..ha...go figure!!!

Also that's my yahoo name..and it's the easiest to remember...soo I try to keep my names the same as my email addresses just so I don't have to remember different names.
