  1. Analysis On Veracity Of Melnikov's Writings

Interesting observations.......thanks for sharing! But even if you are right, then what? In my opinion, there are just too many question marks with MGR. The real question is.........what do we do with the Bible, the Word of God? True preachers will always point back to the word of God. Here is a good example.... ‎"Scripture alone has the authority to bind the conscience" - R. C. Sproul False teachers will divert attention away from the Word of God, and bring attention onto themselves. 12 “How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut down to the ground, you who laid the nations low! 13 You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north; 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ 15 But you are brought down to Sheol, to the far reaches of the pit. 16 Those who see you will stare at you and ponder over you: ‘Is this the man who made the earth tremble, who shook kingdoms, 17 who made the world like a desert and overthrew its cities, who did not let his prisoners go home?’ 18 All the kings of the nations lie in glory, each in his own tomb; 19 but you are cast out, away from your grave, like a loathed branch, clothed with the slain, those pierced by the sword, who go down to the stones of the pit, like a dead body trampled underfoot. 20 You will not be joined with them in burial, because you have destroyed your land, you have slain your people. “May the offspring of evildoers nevermore be named! 21 Prepare slaughter for his sons because of the guilt of their fathers, lest they rise and possess the earth, and fill the face of the world with cities.” Isaiah 14:12–21 ESV
  2. Does The Birth Ceremony Establish Salvation For A Child?

How can you emphasize God with format, doctrine, prayer and song from the unbiblical Spirit and Life book which was authored by a self proclaimed God replacement? What does the covenant God made with Abraham have anything to do with the s&l book? Also, please answer one question that no one has been yet able to answer.... Did the infant need to profess a confession of faith in order to be circumcised? This would be a yes or no question. thanks
  3. Does The Birth Ceremony Establish Salvation For A Child?

I do know better.... I did not say it is me verses you. (you did) I said that you are making this personal.(which you are) I have no reason to compete with you. You and your anonymous friends are the ones asking me why I believe in infant baptism and the covenants of God. If you are done with your soul critique, and you want to search the scriptures, even on secondary issues, than let's do that. Otherwise, I think you should stop trying to be Jr. Holy Spirit trying to use your "best guess" to dictate other peoples personal lives in which you know very little. Again, I say we keep our focus on the Bible, the infallible Word of God, and let Him and His plan and His way be our focus.

Please correct yourself, as this did not happen.
  5. Spiritual Strength

I appreciate your concern. You make valid points. I too agree that secondary issues should not be our focus. I was simply answering questions that you and others were presenting. But to the point of spiritual health.... If my memory serves me correctly, back when Gooday was still posting here, he made some pretty bold accusations against you in regards to your spiritual health when you guys were discussing war and pacifism. Your response was something like....if he was really so concerned with your spiritual status and saw personal sin or error that he should have told you personally, not on line just to fuel an argument. But regardless, if you think I am wasting too much time on secondary issues, then I will take heed. thanks Kevin
  6. Does The Birth Ceremony Establish Salvation For A Child?

You have a right to your theories, but you are guessing at best. I spend a lot more of my time on other things beside infant baptism. But this is a Biblical topic, so I discuss it. That is not wrong is it? You may not be interested, but that is your choice. And if you re-read my posts, the emphasis is not on the baby, the parents or the church, but the emphasis is on God.
  7. Does The Birth Ceremony Establish Salvation For A Child?

The church benefits by using the infant baptism to thank God for his covenant. If God did not promise to "be God to you and to your offspring after you.", then our eternity would not be something to look forward to. 7 And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you. Genesis 17:7 ESV There is a saying...."from one addiction to the next". You want to condemn me for my belief in infant baptism, but you have still not answered for you un-biblical support for infant dedication? You mis-interpreted the verse about Samuel. Do you still believe that God's wants us to dedicate our firstborn?
  8. Does The Birth Ceremony Establish Salvation For A Child?

You want to make this personal? Let's keep our focus on the word of God. The whole council of the word of God. The family is the most important establishment that God created. Before God created the church, He created the family. Before God gave the law, He created the family. 3 Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Psalm 127:3 ESV

I am very sorry to hear more scare tactics from molokan elders. Do you mind if I ask you a question.... Why did you have a ceremony at your new church dedicating your child?
  11. Does The Birth Ceremony Establish Salvation For A Child?

Can you be more specific? Kevin Nazaroff I think my question was clearly stated, specificity is asked of you, I think you are avoiding giving a detailed answer. What would happen to the baby if there were no xtini? Please answer this question about newborn infants. Did the newborn infant need to make a profession of faith before circumcision? This would be a yes or no question.
  12. Does The Birth Ceremony Establish Salvation For A Child?

The roots of xtini and infant dedication are buried in circumcision. Infant baptism has many benefits to the parents and the church, but in and of itself, it does not impute righteousness onto the child. One of the benefits of infant baptism is the ability to thank God for the gift of that child into the family. To thank God for His mercy and grace, and to ask for more mercy and grace in raising that child in God's word.
  13. Does The Birth Ceremony Establish Salvation For A Child?

It has everything to do with the subject. Please answer this question about newborn infants. Did the newborn infant need to make a profession of faith before circumcision? This would be a yes or no question. Can you be more specific? Kevin Nazaroff
  14. Why Did Jesus Come?

I'm not sure where you got this idea. Jesus died for only the elect. Jesus died for every single one of His elect. Jesus' righteous life and shed blood are sufficient to completely save (unto the end) all of His elect. It may be secondary, but that does not mean it is not worthy of discussion. Here is a question for you. If God does really love the "whole" world, does God love Pharoah? Did Jesus die for Pharaoh? Did Jesus die for all of the unfaithful people who lived and died before Jesus' death on the cross? Did/do those people get a second chance? If so, then Jesus allowed people to live unfaithful lives full of sin and rebellion, but overlooked their sin and died for them anyway. If not, then Jesus did not die for them, but only for the elect. God does not overlook anybody's sin. God punishes sin with death. Jesus paid the penalty for these sins. And not only did Jesus pay for the penalty of sin, but He also lived a righteous life and transferred His righteousness onto those that He forgave. What Jesus did on the cross was the complete package of salvation. Start to finish. We had no part in it, none at all. 21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 ESV The believe in universalism can possibly lead to the belief in purgatory and other false doctrines.
  15. Does The Birth Ceremony Establish Salvation For A Child?

No, baptism is not requisite for salvation. The same purpose that circumcision served. A sign of God's covenant. When do we as parents begin to teach our children about God? Before or after they are converted. When do we as parents begin to train our children in the way they should go? Before or after they are converted. When do we as parents start to include our children in family Bible study? Before or after they are converted. When do we as parents start to include our children in family worship? Before or after they are converted. When do we as parents start to include our children in the blessings of fellowship with other believers? Before or after they are converted? So when do we start believing God's promise of mercy and grace that continues from generation to generation? 17 But the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children’s children, Psalm 103:17 ESV Although this is a conversation that needs to be had, it is also a secondary issue that I do not believe is worth Christians splitting over.
