What is the Gospel?

Here is another good scripture to meditate on; From Matthew 7: 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. God told Abraham that he was the father of many nations. Abraham believed God, and his faith was imputed (counted) to him for righteousness. Later, his faith was tested on the mountaintop with his son Isaac. His faith was justified (tried and proven true) by those works.

You can type mighty strong words, but look in your heart and see the coward there, then look at the courage it takes to come out and confess ones sins, and the work of the Lord Jesus Christ in ones life. 2 Corinthians 13:5 "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves."

I would like to add to this the doctrine of the believer crucified with Christ, buried with him, risen with him and seated with him in heavenly places. For in this is the key, the thing that God did to us; that we should no longer walk after the flesh and the lusts thereof. But that we should walk in righteousness and newness of life. In short, victory over sinning. Romans 6 3-4, 9-13 3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. 10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Hey mud, You have got to look more into that Ephraimite thing, this has been going on for the most part about 100 years. It started with something called British-Israelism, and has been changed and revamped several times since then by different men. Check out this link. Kevin, If you are going to make assertions about a belief, you should address that belief system. What you have done is use an ad hominem argument. Which is to attack a person in order to get people to reject a certain belief. Please re-think what you are saying here. It is like warning people to avoid calvinism by pointing to the Westboro Baptist Church. There is no single established doctrine for "KJV Onlyism" as it is derisively called. There are varying degrees from someone who prefers it above all other english translations and interpretations. To the other extreme of the Authorized Version (KJV) being new revelation from God. Last and most important; If the issue needs to be discussed, then discuss the issue. If the people are to be discussed, then discuss every group and church that is documented in having a KJV only assertion, and make a judgment based on the consensus.

Just to add a thought for all to ponder on. There are some sins that are popular to confess overcoming, but there are other sins that many try to say are "best to be kept secret." There are several threads on this very forum addressing drunkenness and other sins that people need help with. When some men confess the power of God overcoming sin in their lives it is honourable, but when others do it is shameful. Why is that?

A couple questions for you: How did this giving of the russian language by the Holy Spirit happen? Do you realize that the obryat was not given in russian as you suppose? The novie obryat was given in slovanic, which is not russian. They kept the people in the dark by holding onto their "god-given" language, slovanic. That is the language maxim gavrilovich used for his obryat (ritual), so if anything we should stop speaking this worldy russian language in ouur churches and go back to 'god's tongue', slovanic. (All sarcasm fully intended, and necessary.)

Wow! Just a question, would you consider yourself to be a born-again son of the living God? Another question, what would the God of heaven and earth think of you spewing your hellish hate towards his children; no matter what color.
