sadichka 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 What sort of items can you cook on a campfire? Any suggestions....fish, chicken, etc.... Sada ;)
seeking_truth_1 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2005 All can be done on a campfire But it depends upon your situation Hot Dogs (ya I know - just buy the Hebrew National) are the easiest especially for the kids A bun, condiments and your off to the races However, the grown ups sometimes what something different If you want chicken or fish the easiest way is to buy a grill basket It's makes it pretty easy to turn things without getting your mitts messed

sadichka 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 Speaking of S'mores! The last time we went camping, I forgot the graham crackers, <_< so I used Oreo 'type' Cookies....I think it was the 'Double Stuff' stuff. Needless to say, we don't use graham crackers anymore! seeking_truth_1 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2005 Now if you want a large enough fire to feed a REAL hungry crew You might want to rent this "bad boy" 65 feet long 54,000 lbs It's capable of cooking 2500 hot dogs (kosher style) an hour

sadichka 0 Report post Posted July 9, 2005 Hello all! Well, the new thing to Bar-B-Q is veggies. I brushed them (squash, onions and eggplant) with a garlic flavored olive oil and grilled. Yum! Goes well with the fresh Trout! See ya! :D
ligonier 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2005 (edited) Try slicing potatoes longways in the range of 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick flat slabs. Coat 'em with oil (I've used Pam or Canola myself). And then grill 'em until done. Careful not to burn 'em. The grilled 'taters have a flavor similar to french fries surprisingly. Go well with ketchup or catsup. Side note: I've found that the veggies take longer to cook than the trout. The potatos take about the same time as the steaks. 1/2 inch thick grilled onions are fantastic ! :D They all work well in Seeking's flippin' grillin' thingy.
