LTTBT 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2006 For the last few days I have been bothered by a "temptation", you know, the kind that just sits in your mind festering, relentless, and a downright pain in your day. I tried to get it out of my mind changing the subject every time it pops up. It wouldn't go away. It ended up staring me in the face, so close I could smell it. The little voice was trying to convince me to "don't worry, nobody will know, it's not bad". The only thing that I could say at that moment is " God, help me in my weakness". I escaped the temptation at that moment, but for how long I thought. It has been a few days since I went to the well for a drink (reading the Bible). Now would be a good time for me to crack it open and read. No particular book came to mind, so I just prayed, placed my thumbs on the edge, and opened it up. Wellllllll it opened to exactly what I was facing, showing me what is the penalty for giving in, and what was the escape. God is so awesome, He provides strength in times of weakness, the answer that is plain to see with an open heart, and comfort knowing that He takes a moment of His eternity just to listen to a nothing like me. God bless you all.

sadichka 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2007 Temptation is sweet. I've heard that many times growing up, I had never really understood it. Until it was right in my face. I recalled the story of Joseph 'fleeing' temptation, namely Potipher's wife (Genesis 39). When faced with temptation, get away from the situation and then open the bible to: 1 Corinthians 10:13. Powerful stuff! Sada
